Review: Holiday Gem (Seven Sin Sisters #3) by Paloma Beck

Goodreads Summary:

Seven sisters are entwined in a legacy, one originating back from the time of the Italian Wars in the 1500s. One by one, they will find their mates from the immortal Valendite Breeds and secure their place in history. Gemma has spent her adult life consumed with researching the Valendite Breed history, constantly greedy for knowledge about their race. Until she meets Seamus and she's no longer able to hide in her world of books and theory. Now is her time to live. Seamus has found his gem and he wants nothing more than to treasure her. But his best friend is missing and he needs to locate him. Torn between his mate and his brother-in-arms, Seamus may be forced to choose one over the other. Will he sacrifice a lifelong friendship for the love of his life?

My Thoughts:

This addition to the series was Fantastic! Not only did we have the romance of the paranormal mates, but we had the added suspense of the missing "brother"! I loved Gemma and Seamus together. They were another perfect match. Gemma's Soul sin was Greed, I was very curious how that was going to come about and I loved the direction Paloma took it.

This series so far is an absolute must read. They are short, hot and very well written. I am sure this is going to be a series I will enjoy again and again.

And I just have to say that this is my favorite cover so far, I love it!

Review: Eternal Envy (Seven Sin Sisters #2) by Paloma Beck

Summary:

Seven sisters are entwined in a legacy, one originating back from the time of the Italian Wars in the 1500s. One by one, they will find their mates from the immortal Valendite Breeds and secure their place in history.

Eloise has lived with bitter envy her entire life until the moment she fell into the arms of Caedon. Once claimed by her mate, she will covet nothing more for eternity, especially now that she has it all.

Caedon plans to fulfill her every need if he can just keep her safe. With their secret so close to being exposed and a mate who finds herself in the midst of the drama, Caedon has enough to keep his hands full.

Then Caedon’s parents, believed dead for a century, come across the Terrorist Elimination Unit’s (TEU) radar. Can he save his parents while protecting his newfound mate?

My Thoughts:
I loved it! I think this pair, Caedon and Eloise, was very evenly matched. They seem to balance each other out. Eloise's sin is envy and as soon as her and Caedon meet it fades, she doesn't want what everyone else has anymore, because the gorgeous man is hers and hers alone.

I am truely loving the series concept and I am diving into book 3 right away. I highly recommend reading this series. Paloma does not disappoint her readers.

Review: Beautiful Harmony (Conquest #5.5) by S.J Frost

Goodreads Summary:

Featuring Kyler Christenson and Robbie Russo from the novel, Black Heart Down.

Ever since rock stars, Kyler Christenson and Robbie Russo, pledged their commitment, they've lived only for each other, and it's been a life of happiness every day. When Robbie wakes on Christmas morning to a special message in the snow and Kyler standing in the early sunlight, he races outside to be with him.

Though he and Robbie have faced challenges in their past, Kyler knows what he wants for their future. As Robbie stands before him, Kyler presents him with a gift that will change both their lives to one of beautiful harmony.

My Thoughts:

This is book 5.5 in the Conquest series by S.J Frost.
I was so happy to be able to see Another glimpse into Robbie and Kylers life. This novella was perfectly titled. Robbie and Kylers life together is now a Beautiful Harmony.

In this story Kyler gives Robbie the perfect Christmas morning. He puts a lot of thought into his gifts and the snow scene proposal was to die for! I can't stress enough how enthralling this series is. I will read it over and over again!

Review: Black Heart Down (Conquest #5) by S.J Frost

Goodreads Summary:

For Robbie Russo, only one man has ever owned his heart, Kyler Christenson. The years at each other’s sides never diminished his love for him, but with the rise to fame in their rock band, Black Heart Down, more than a few challenges hindered their relationship. Now, he’s reached a crossroads, either he’ll have all of Kyler, or he’ll walk away from everything they’ve built together.

Kyler may be fearless on stage, but if there’s one thing to send his heart crashing down, it’s losing Robbie. When Robbie delivers his ultimatum, Kyler’s willing to do what it takes for things to work. But change doesn’t happen quickly, and when he makes a terrible mistake, all their history together might not be enough to save their future.

My Thoughts:

This is the fifth book in the Conquest series by S.J Frost and I loved it!  No surprise there. I have loved each and every one of the books in this series. I wasn't a big fan of Kyler in the previous books, but that was because we readers had only been given a small glimpse into the complex man Ky really is. There are so many reasons why Kyler is the way that he is and hearing his story made my heart hurt.

Robbie is an amazing man that made a really bad decision. Together Robbie and Kyler make a magical pair and I am so glad that I finally got to their story.

Also, it was awesome to see Jesse and Evan again, as well as the other members of Conquest. While they made an appearance they didn't overshadow the main characters and their story.

S.J Frost has become one of my favorite authors. She is a phenominal story teller that writes with so much emotion, that you can't help but feel apart of the story. I can not recommend her work enough.
If you read nothing else this year you absolutely must try the Conquest series!

Review: Unlawful by Jessica Freely

Goodreads Summary:
In a world where being gay is unlawful and slavery is legal, two men fight for their lives, for their desires, and for justice. Larke is a corporate lackey with a secret. Brode is a freedom fighter on the run. Each spells trouble for the other, but the passion between them will not be denied, no matter what the risk.

This is a short lgbt science fiction erotic romance set in the universe of Jessica Freely's bestselling novella, His Own Devices. Previously only available for a limited time to readers who purchased His Own Devices during release week, it can now be enjoyed by everyone.

My Thoughts:
I was immediately pulled into this story. It wad very different compared to other M/M books I have read as this one had a Futuristic Science Fiction feel to it. I really enjoyed the concept as well, (that being gay was illegal) it was unique and captivating.

I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading more of Jessica Freely's work but I definitely will, very soon! I would highly recommend this book to any fans of M/M romances.

Review Rewind (#4): Finding a Dream (Conquest #4) by S.J Frost

Review Rewind (#4):
This is my last Review Rewind for S.J Frost. I have read the next two stories in the series and those review posts will be coming next week. I can't stress enough how amazing this entire series has been you simply must give it a try. I am sure you will love it, as I do.

Goodreads Summary:
Bullied and harassed at school for his sexuality, Dillon Davis can’t see his life getting any better, but he can see it getting worse. Depressed, wounded in spirit and body, he’s nearing a point of hopelessness, until he sees a picture of his favorite stage actor, Brandon Alexander, with his partner, Shunichi Miyamoto. At learning Shunichi runs a karate dojo, a spark of hope comes to Dillon of learning to defend himself, and most of all, meeting Brandon.

Brandon Alexander is filled with compassion for Dillon the moment he meets him. He knows all too well what it’s like to be scorned for being gay. He and Shunichi want nothing more than to help him, but when Dillon never returns to the dojo, they fear what’s happened to him.

My Thoughts:
This is book 4 in the Conquest series. I loved that Jesse and Evan had a cameo in this book, but didn't take away from the focus of the story. Brandon & Shun played a much bigger roll in helping out Dillon. The fact that they didn't even hesitate to do so made me love them that much more. I hope we get to see Dillon again at some point in the future. This series is so amazing, I think everyone needs to read it.

I have only read this one once, so far, and I just finished it in January. I will reread it at some point as with the rest of the series. I think this one really hits hard on the facts that kids today are bullied relentlessly and that there are people out there that can and will help.

Review Rewind (#3) Keys to Love (Conquest#3) by S.J Frost

Review Rewind (#3):
I love S.J Frost's work which is why I am featuring her in my first set of Review Rewind posts. This entire series so far has been heart-stopping, laugh inducing and tear jerking!

Goodreads Summary:
For two years, Julian Forrester's been playing keyboards and piano for Conquest. Having left behind a classical career, he's reached a level of fame like he's never dreamed. But fame and fortune can't bring him the one thing he wants most; love.

Morgan Chandler spent years teaching students to love music until budget cuts forced him out of a job. With family debts rising, Morgan accepts a job as a roadie for Conquest. He thinks he'll hate it with one exception -- he'll be close to Julian.

Can the two find the right music together that will lead them to the Keys to Love?

My thoughts:
This is book 3 in the Conquest series by S.J Frost and I love, love, loved it! It is a M/M romance and is just amazing! I was so excited to read Julian's book & Morgan was the perfect man for him. I couldn't stop reading this, as with the others in this series I just had to finish it! S.J Frost certainly has a way with words, and is a master storyteller! I can not wait to read the next book.

I read this one in January of this year and haven't had the chance to read it again yet, but I am sure that I will. Right now (among other reads) I am working on finishing up the remaining books in the series. Once again if you haven't read this series please move it up on your list. You will NOT be disappointed!

Review Rewind (#2) No Fear (Conquest #2) by S.J Frost

Review Rewind (#2):
Today's review rewind is on the second book of the Conquest series by S.J Frost. It is an amazing love story and you just have to read it!

Goodreads Summary:
After touring for more than a year with his band, Conquest, singer Jesse Alexander is ready to head home for a long rest with his partner, superstar vocalist, Evan Arden. When it’s time to hit the studio again, there’s competition from two new bands and tensions reach a breaking point that threaten not only Conquest’s future, but Jesse’s relationship with Evan. As he faces challenges unlike any he’s ever known, Jesse must somehow keep it together to duplicate Conquest’s success and reach his ultimate goal: showing NO FEAR and announcing his love of Evan publicly.

My Thoughts:
This is book 2 of the Conquest series and is the continuation ofEvan and Jesses story. I loved this book just as much as the first one. Ev and Jess have an amazing relationship. Dispite being rock icons and constantly in the public eye they make it work. I would definitely recommend this title. If you have never read a m/m romance this series is the perfect place to start.
Again, I read this one back in September and I have since then read it again. I still love both the characters and the story as much as I did the very first time I read it. Jesse and Evan are the perfect couple add to it seeing Jesse's brother Brandon finally find his happiness and *sigh* its a book that can take your breath away.

Review Rewind (#1) Conquest (Conquest #1) by S.J Frost

Review Rewind (#1):

Hi everybody! I have decided to do a series of posts involving reviews of some of my favorite books, that I read before starting this blog. I am going to start out with the Conquest series by S.J Frost because it popped my M/M cherry and because I absolutely love the stories!  I am about half-way through the series now and want you to be caught up before I post reviews for the later books in the series.

Goodreads Summary:

Vocally gifted singer, Jesse Alexander, has dreams of taking his band, Conquest, to the top. Evan Arden was thought of as a musical genius when at the height of his career he vanished from the spotlight. Together, their relationship is just as intense as their music careers. With success pushing down on them, Jesse must decide between his life of music, or his life with Evan.

My Thoughts:

Let me start by saying that this is the first m/m romance I have ever read but I was completely blown away. Jesse and Evan have such an instant connection and passionate romance that I was hooked right away. There were a few times I laughed and quite a few times I cried. Conquest is such a touching story I just can't even do it justice. Please have an open mind and read this book. You will not regret it! I would highly recommend it. I am looking forward to starting book 2 "No Fear" right away.

Since I wrote this review in September of last year I have read Conquest three more times and I love the story, (as well as Jesse and Evan) more and more each time. It is such a fantastic Romance that I think even people that are not fans of the M/M genre will enjoy it. For those of you that have never tried a M/M romance this is a perfect book for first timers.

*Thanks again JoJo for the initial loan and recommendation!*

Review: Lustful Cravings (Seven Sin Sisters #1) by Paloma Beck

Goodreads Summary:
Seven sisters are entwined in a legacy bigger than anyone ever expected. One by one, they will find their mates from the immortal vampyric Valendite breeds and secure their place in history.
Each sister embodies one of the seven deadly sins only to be cast aside once claimed. But claiming comes at the price of separation, causing a weakening of their combined powers, which none want to happen... until Layla, holding the sin of lust within her body, locks eyes with Madden.
Madden is one of the strongest of the Valendite Breed, a group of near-immortal men originating from the Italian Wars in the 1500s. Today, the Valendite Breed serve as the Terrorist Elimination Unit, an invisible arm of the CIA. Their only weakness is their need for a mate to carry on the Breed. So now that Madden has found Layla, he will never let her go.
With forces mounting up against the Breed, Madden and Layla will need to rely on both of their powers to get them to their Pronouncement.

My Thoughts: Wow! Let me just say that this is the first book I have read by Paloma Beck and she has completely enthralled me. I loved the story concept and the characters have such amazing chemistry that I could not put the book down. I literally read this in one sitting. I thought Madden was a  super sexy alpha male and Layla was the perfect mate for him. Add in a second man and the story was utter perfection. I will be reading books 2 and 3 very very soon. I can't wait to see which sister is next.
This is a novella so its easy to read in one sitting. I very highly recommend this title!

Review: Burning For Him by Michelle Fox

Goodreads Summary:
Three nights to ravish her body, one curse to shatter her heart...
A magic locket brings the demon Khan into Selena Connor’s life--and bed--just in the nick of time. Her fiancĂ©’s stolen her life savings, she faces crushing debts, and her boss is trying to harass her into his bed. When Khan appears, his dark magic unlocks the deepest secrets of her body and heart. His touch ignites a burning desire that bends Selena to his will and erases all her cares.
But Khan's curse binds him to the locket's owner for only three nights of soul-searing pleasure, and just as Selena realizes she can’t live without him, Khan vanishes. Reality comes crashing in: Selena's boss has framed her to take the fall for his crimes. If she refuses his advances now, it's jail. She may as well be cursed herself.
With nothing left to lose,Selena takes a leap of faith. Only one man--Khan--will ever truly possess her. And maybe she's the one woman who can free him.
An erotic novella (code for longer than a short story but not as long as a full novel) of approximately 20,000 words; expect steamy sex with BDSM elements.

My Thoughts:
This is the second book I have read by Michelle Fox and she has just made my "auto-buy" list!
These characters (Selena & Khan) quickly pulled me into their story and didn't let me go until the last page was read.
It is a novella so it would be a perfect bedtime read. The story is well written and very captivating, not to mention super steamy! I highly recommend reading this story.
