Excerpt and Review: Coming Unbound by Lacey Savage

Blurb:

Ginny and Cole have struggled to connect intimately since before their marriage. When Cole suggests they surprise each other with the most sexually daring things they can dream up for their anniversary, Ginny reluctantly musters every ounce of courage she possesses to get nipple piercings.

Cole’s surprise?

He’s turned their suburban basement into a dungeon—and hired a sexy Dom to teach them the art of BDSM.

Desperately in love with his wife, Cole’s aware of sensitive sexual demons in Ginny’s past, and will try anything to beat them. Whips, toys, ménage play with the Dom…all these and more could help Ginny find pleasure, break through her issues.

Or, if they’re not careful, possibly just break Ginny.

Excerpt:

I groped for my cocktail glass then drained it. "Now, are you going to answer my question or not?"

She pursed her lips for a moment before replying. "Men want whores."
My stomach bottomed out. That wasn't at all the answer I'd expected. It went against everything I believed.

I motioned for her to go on with a flick of my trembling hand.

"They also want a woman who's confident in her own skin. Someone secure enough in her sexuality to tease them, taunt them, play with them."

The blood drained from my face. That wasn't me at all. I liked sex well enough, but Cole was the one who initiated our romantic encounters almost all the time.

"What they don't want," Donna continued, "is someone who just lies there and takes it." She sipped her martini and furrowed her brows. "Why are you asking me this?"

I sucked in a breath and considered lying or changing the subject. But my heart pounded hard against my breastbone, and I needed to know more. "Cole wants us to spice things up for our anniversary," I blurted. "And I have no idea what to do."

"Is that all?" Donna laughed, the humor crinkling her eyes. "Geez, girl, you scared me. You were so serious. I thought you were getting a divorce or something."

I swallowed hard but said nothing. A divorce might not be too far off. Cole had married a woman with little sexual experience and no interest in learning anything beyond the particulars of inserting Tab A into Slot B, and I couldn't help but wonder if he had a Lilian of his own. Cole worked as a technician at a medical laboratory. Had someone there already offered to hop on a photocopy machine and spread her legs for him?

The thought soured my stomach. I set my empty glass aside and gripped Donnas hands. "Help me."

Her eyes widened. She squeezed my fingers in a supportive gesture, and I was insanely grateful she wasnt laughing.

"Okay, well, you must have some idea. Think about a fantasy of yours Something you haven't gotten to act out but would like to." I must have looked completely blank, because Donna sighed. She signaled a waiter who was passing by. "We're going to need more alcohol.."

My Thoughts:

I thought this was a really good story. I enjoyed the characters and the writing. I loved Cole! The story was spicy and held my attention. I will be reading more from this author in the future. I would recommend this book to anyone that would like a little forray into the D/s world.

Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. Series Reviews: Born series by Cynthia Arsuaga

Born To Be Wild (book 1)-

Goodreads Summary:

Alexandra Carlton, Alex to her friends, the only girl born into a family of vampire hunters with strict rules. She lives and hunts by the Code. Despite insecurities and self-esteem issues about her appearance, she eagerly tracks a rogue vamp carrying a contagious virus, deadly to vampires and humans alike, to prove her worth, to her family and herself.

Alex meets Stefan Marin, a brooding 500 year old vampire. He helps her not only on her quest but tames her wildest passions and discovers the true beauty within her, the beauty he can't help but fall in love with.

Together, Alex and Stefan break all the rules uncovering more than a virus—hot sex, an uptight FBI Special Agent, spanking, hot sex, a nosy, meddling brother, more hot sex, bondage and submission, murder, and bad vampires.

Will their love survive the wild side they were born to live?

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this story, but it took me quite awhile to really get into it. That happens a lot with first books so I kept going. I really liked Stefan and Alex together. Stefans Dominance was extremely sexy too!
One thing that turned me off was the decision Stefan made while in captivity, regarding his actions with Cat. I wasn't expecting that and I couldn't stand her! It was hot don't get me wrong, its just that it was her.
I was very eager to dive into book two by the time I finished this one. I would recommend this book as it was an interesting read.

I loved the way that Gregori was with Candi, the care and compassion he showed while still being a dominant was breathtaking.

Review: Hold my Hand by Paloma Beck

Goodreads Summary:

A book about Aubrey and William. They are navigating through a relationship that may have too many hurdles... or perhaps not, as long as she can hold his hand.

Aubrey has been hurt in the past, discouraged and degraded. Still, William sees something in her that won't allow him to walk away. Instantly drawn to her but intuitive enough to take it slowly, he courts her. Then he bargains, persuades and seduces until Aubrey becomes ensnared by his commanding nature. Despite the fight she puts up in accepting William's lifestyle, the bonds he places on Aubrey give her a freedom she desperately needs. And together, they heal old wounds and find their perfect love.

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book. It pulled me in from the beginning and kept my attention. I really liked William but had a little trouble connecting to Aubrey. That is just me though, she is struggling with the "relationship" and doesn't know how to feel. This is primarily because of her religion and the way she was raised. I just wanted her to sieze the day and embrace the new world that William was opening up to her. It took her till the end but she finally opened her eyes. Normally I do not enjoy religion in my fiction however in this case it worked. It helped explain where Aubrey was coming from and why she reacts the way she does to certain things.

Paloma Beck does not disappoint her readers. She has truely become a favorite author of mine and I can not wait to read more of her work.

I very highly recommend Paloma's work to any reader that loves their books spicy!

Review: Feeling the Rhythm (Conquest #7) by S.J Frost

Goodreads Summary:

Brad Delfini once had the world in his hands, but misfortune and bad decisions showed him just how quickly the spotlight can go dark. For years, he was struggling to get by, when a fateful phone call brought him to famed rock band, Conquest. Since becoming their drummer, he’s hit the top of fame again and he has all he could ever want. Except for one thing. As Conquest’s world tour draws to the close, that missed chance leaves him filled with regrets.

Remmy Laurent has been a roadie since he graduated high school, but years of being on the move have worn him down. He decides it’s time to quit and bring some stability into his life. He just wanted to finish out this one last tour with his favorite band; Conquest. It hasn’t been an easy tour, for many reasons, but most of all because no matter how hard he tried to deny it, he lost his heart to a man who he thinks barely knows he exists.

When the last concert is played, Brad and Remmy both believe they’ll never see each other again, but a little friendly intervention brings them together once more. As they begin to know each other in a whole new way, Brad must somehow make peace with his past if he and Remmy are going to have a future.

My Thoughts:

Finally we get to Brad's book! I have been waiting to read this book since Brad joined Conquest. I was so happy that he ended up with Remmy because Remmy was a fantastic character who deserved to be happy too. Brad was an ass until he figured out a few things, mainly where his life was headed. It all worked out in the end though. Brad and Remmy certainly know how to light the pages on fire!

This entire series was fantastic and I can only hope to see these characters again sometime in the future. I will definitely reread all of the books over and over. It will be one of my go to series. One that I go to whenever I am in a book funk or just need a pick me up.
