Blog Tour: Crave by Sierra Cartwright

Blurb:

She still craved him… The sight of a collar in her boyfriend’s drawer had stunned Sarah. Panicking, she had fled. But no other man has ever been his equal.

Two years ago, the woman he’d hoped to collar and marry disappeared. So Reece McRae is stunned to find his former girlfriend on her knees, behaving as the submissive he’d always wanted.

Is it too late? He should refuse her, but an undeniable sexual attraction consumes him.

Sarah had been under Reece’s spell from the moment she met him. When she found a steel collar in his drawer, she panicked. The idea of a lifetime of his relentless demands, sensual and otherwise, suffocated her.

In the years they’ve been apart, she hasn’t met his equal. Now, convinced one last night will vanquish his memory, she sets out to seduce him.

The Reece she returns to is even more determined to have his way. Is she now strong enough, brave enough, to surrender to his love?

Excerpt:

What the fuck? Stunned, Reece McRae froze in place and stared at the woman prostrate before him.
Even though he couldn’t see her face, there was no doubt that it was Sarah. His Sarah. The woman he’d planned to collar, marry, cherish for the rest of his days.
She wore a black corset that had a white arrow on each side, making her waist look impossibly tiny. A skirt covered her buttocks—barely—and hinted at exposed flesh beneath.
Though it had been two years since he’d seen her, Reece remembered every one of her delicious curves. He recalled how silky soft she’d felt as he’d skimmed his fingertips across her skin.
At one time, he’d grasped handfuls of her long hair. Now its length pooled onto the hardwood floor. Her arms were stretched in front of her, and her hands were on the floor, palms facing up.
She remained in position, waiting on his command. Her reappearance was as unwelcome as it was unwanted.
And, this close, the scent of her—femininity wrapped in the musk of unrequited love and unexplored promise—wrapped around him and transported him back.
From the moment she’d walked into his company to apply for a job as his personal assistant four years before, he’d been attracted to her. After reminding himself that he had to be professional, he’d taken the time to consider all the applicants the human resources department had pre-screened. But she’d had the best résumé, and she’d interviewed better than anyone else.
Even on their first project, they’d thrived. They’d made one hell of a team. In a short time, he’d come to count on her brilliance, creativity and upbeat nature. He’d gone to the office every day with a smile.
At night, he’d hated saying goodbye. And he’d wanted, oh, so much more from her.
Though McRae International didn’t have rules against fraternizing, as the CEO, he operated from his own set of guidelines. He didn’t date employees. He compartmentalized each area of his life.
It had taken nearly four months to convince himself that going on a single date couldn’t hurt. They’d worked late one night, and he’d invited her to dine with him afterwards. Instead of a quick bite, he’d taken her to his home and had grilled a couple of steaks. Though they’d shared an office suite, she’d kept her personal life cloaked in mystery. He’d never heard her make a phone call during the day, nor had he caught her spending any time on social media or answering anything other than company emails. It was as if she became a different person after she logged off the computer for the night. And the more time he’d spent with her, the more he’d wanted to know who the real Sarah was.
After dinner, he’d loaded the dishwasher, invited her to stay the night and promised her that he would be a complete gentleman. She had teased him about it. He’d admitted it was, indeed, a rarity. He’d made up the guest room, and when she’d slipped past him, he’d touched her shoulder, and she’d paused.
He hadn’t consciously planned to kiss her, but having her in his arms, that close, had melted his steely resolve.
And she’d responded to his kiss.
The next morning, while she’d slept, he’d gone for a long run around Memorial Park. He’d wondered what the hell he’d been thinking in bringing her home. Tasting Sarah had been like having a bite of dessert. She’d been decadent and delicious, and the sample had only increased his appetite. It—she—they were impossible on every level. He had sexual desires that were outside the norm. He’d scared off more than a handful of women over the years.
He’d gotten where he was in life by taking carefully calculated risks.
Seducing Sarah would be one of the worst ideas he’d ever had. After all, what were the chances that his perfect assistant would also want to be his kinky little submissive?
Finding a world-class employee was rare. He could find play partners. But over the next few weeks, the more he’d tried to deny the idea of being with her, the more it had persisted.
Behaving at work had become a bigger struggle each day.
His friend Julien had warned him of the dangers. If the relationship fell apart, Reece would be without a lover as well as a valuable work ally.
Reece had quickly discovered that, when it came to Sarah, logic was a thing of the past.
A month later, he’d asked her to accompany him to an after-hours business meeting. He’d rationalized that he could explain her presence to his associates, to her, even to himself. As if he’d still been a teenager, he’d held his breath until she’d agreed to be his guest.
In that moment, when she’d slipped into his car and he’d heard the whisper of her silk stockings and seen an expanse of thigh beneath her dress’s hem, he’d known he had a difficult choice to make. Less than a week later, he’d done the only thing possible. He’d fired her and asked her to move in.
After her initial shock, she’d accepted. They’d celebrated their new life with a honeymoon of sorts. When they’d returned to Houston, she’d started her own business, working from the home they’d shared. Over the next year and a half, she’d become his most valued ally, his trusted advisor. He’d loved having her at business dinners and on trips. Every decision they’d made had supported their commitment to their growing relationship.
Or so he’d believed until he’d returned home from work one day to find the house, her home office and his life empty.
For the first few days after she’d run, he’d imagined turning her delectable ass every shade of red before welcoming her back into his arms and life…where she belonged.
Then reality had sent in.
She was never coming back.
After the anger and stunned disbelief had worn off—an embarrassingly long time later—he’d picked up the pieces of his shattered dreams and had stowed them, and the memory of her, away. Lesson driven home.
Now he told himself to turn the fuck around and go find Julien and slam his betraying ass against the wall, despite the fact that it was his birthday weekend. The man was no fool. He had known that Sarah was in the room when he’d told Reece he’d procured a lovely sub for an evening of entertainment.
More than anyone, Julien knew what Reece had been through. After all, he’d been with him the whole miserable way. Together with their friend Kennedy, they’d emptied a fair number of Scotch bottles. But Reece hadn’t moved on. A month later, Julien had grown weary of Reece’s moroseness and had staged an intervention. Julien had said that he’d tracked down Sarah. As he’d dumped expensive booze down the drain, he’d added that she was safe, but that she wanted to be left alone. Afterwards, he’d dragged Reece to the gym, forced him to work on business plans and re-engage in his life.
By even the harshest of standards, Reece had done well for himself.
But there was a reason for those sad songs on jukeboxes. Did one ever recover from the shock of losing one’s soul mate?
She remained in position, gaze cast down, and he couldn’t deny the attraction he still felt.

Review: His Salvation by J.R Loveless

Blurb:
The ADA Chronicles: Book One

In an attempt to atone for his sins and find some solace, ADA Agent Gabriel Romero helps other Deviants in need. But with threats from both sides- Normals and the Deviants who despise them- he finds it harder and harder to outrun his ghosts, especially after a difficult mission to rescue twin brothers held at an enemy compound, where Gabriel meets Alexander Ryker. Gabriel finds his new charge unexpectedly attractive, and that's a complication he does not want- one he thinks he doesn't deserve.

Despite the frosty reception from the stubborn agent who rescued him, sheltered telepath Alex feels an instant connection through the pain he sees in Gabriel's eyes, and he does everything he can to gain his attention. The realities he must face while mastering his ability are hard, but failing to learn to defend himself is not an option. Soon he'll need his new found strength to convince Gabriel he deserves to live and love again.

My Thoughts:
I was extremely excited to read this book when I received it for review. I read the blurb and immediately thought hmmm, this could be something like X-Men and boy was I right! Once I got started reading I could not stop, I was literally up most of the night reading until I finished.

Gabriel leads a team of Deviants to rescue Alex and his brother from an enemy facility. What Gabriel is not expecting is the connection that he feels toward the beautiful young man. Alex on the other hand does everything he can to be as close as possible to Gabriel. While Alex is learning to use his powers and to shield his mind there are outside forces impacting the men.

I think His Salvation is the perfect blend of Action, Romance and of course it has a tortured hero so it pushed all of my buttons! The MC's have an undeniable chemistry that just threatens to light the pages on fire and is sure to keep you up burning the midnight oil. I can not recommend this book enough it definitely made it to my favorites list!

Zethan, Rowan's guardian angel, arrives too late. In order to save Rowan's soul, Zethan makes a deal of his own with Tur'el. With his sight restored and possessed by Tur'el Rowan searches for Zethan on Earth.

Rowan is obsessed with capturing Zethan's angelic beauty on canvas. When he meets a mortal who embodies the same beauty, Tur'el and Rowan are overjoyed. But finding Zethan again may prove deadly for all of them.

My Thoughts:

This is a fairly short book. The blurb tells a lot, but I am so glad to have read this one and I think the cover is gorgeous. I have to admit that at the end of the book I was a bit confused as to what had happened so I had to re-read a few pages, but it was worth it.  I really enjoyed the writing. EM Lynley is fast on the way to my list of go to authors. While I did enjoy the characters I didn't get the connection I was hoping for until the end, then everything fell into place and I was left smiling. I think this story would be an excellent one for an afternoon or evening of reading.

Excerpt
Jason smiled and lifted his head up for a kiss. Kale was happy to oblige. Moving his hand to the crook of Jason’s neck, Kale deepened the kiss. When he began to feel Jason’s erection against his leg, he broke away. Tonight he wanted to prolong things. He finished undressing Jason and then removed his own clothes. Going back to Jason’s ribs, he picked up where he’d left off. Slowly his lips and hands explored every inch of Jason’s body, paying homage to the man who had given up everything for him. The only place that was left untouched was his cock. That would wait.
Kale sat up on his knees and gazed down at Jason, marveling at how perfect he looked, pale skin against the dark green of the comforter. If things were different, Kale would have taken him, rough and passionate, but as much as Kale wanted to, he couldn’t. He was the slave and Jason was the master, but more importantly, Jason needed to feel in control right now, empowered. More than anything, Jason needed to know that he had Kale and wasn’t going to lose him.
Kale reached across the bed and got the oil from the bedside table. Slowly, he prepared himself, locking eyes with Jason and seeing the lust building in them, a lust he knew was mirrored in his own eyes. When he was done, he moved on all fours to Jason’s side and leaned down to whisper in his ear. “I’m ready for you, master. I’m yours, and I’ll never turn you away.” When he pulled back, he saw a flash of possessiveness in Jason’s eyes before he got up and ran a hand down Kale’s side as he positioned himself behind him.
“Yes, you’re mine, and I’m never giving you up.” Jason entered him in one long thrust, groaning as Kale gasped. It wasn’t harsh, but it was firm and exactly what both of them needed. For a moment, Jason was still inside Kale, letting him adjust while he rubbed his hands up and down his back murmuring, “Mine.” Then he started thrusting, quickly finding a rhythm. Kale bucked his hips back, meeting each stroke and groaning at the pleasure he felt. Gods, he hoped Jason wouldn’t take long. His body was already thrumming with the effort to hold back. There was no way he was going to allow himself to come first.
Kale began to grip Jason each time he entered, showing his eagerness and urging him to lose control. Just when Kale thought Jason was close, Jason leaned over him to speak in his ear. “Eager, are we? I don’t know why. You won’t be coming tonight until I say.”
Kale groaned and buried his head in the bed. At least Jason was back in control where, whether Kale liked it or not, he needed him to be. How had he gotten to the point where this man commanded him so completely? The thought was fleeting; at the moment he didn’t care. All he cared about was completing Jason and then hoping his master would let him come.
Thankfully, Jason began to pick up the pace. Only trouble now was that the faster pace meant it took all of Kale’s concentration to not come. “You’re mine, Kale; I chose you. Whether you like it or not, you’re the one I’m going to be with.” He liked it all right, he liked it too much. Jason’s hands moved from Kale’s back to grasp his hips painfully. The pain cut through Kale’s need and centered him, giving him something to focus on to keep his orgasm at bay. A few more harsh thrusts and Jason stilled, crying out as he came.
Spent, Jason fell on Kale and rolled over, bringing him with him so they were spooning. Jason’s hand crept over Kale’s hip and lightly stroked his erection, eliciting a whimper from Kale. “You’re going to have to hold this for me for a while if you want release tonight.” Kale’s only answer was to desperately thrust forward into Jason’s hand. “Are you disobeying me, Kale?”
Immediately, Kale stilled. “No. Yes. No, master.”
“Hmm. Now roll over and take care of me. The sooner you get me ready to go again, the sooner you can come.”
Kale rolled over and glared at Jason, relaxing boneless and sated with that pleasant post coital glow. Jason laughed. “You really need to learn to control that temper of yours. Patience is a virtue.”
“One you don’t seem to have.” Kale plopped next to Jason and began to rub his chest.
Jason laughed and covered Kale’s hand with his own. “True, but I never did claim to be virtuous. You’re the only one who seems to think I’m perfect.”
“And you’re the only person who seems to think I’m worth anything. I guess we’re cut out for each other.”
Jason sobered immediately and grabbed Kale by the hair, forcing him to meet his eyes. “Don’t speak like that. You really think I’d own a worthless slave? That I’d take a worthless man to my bed? Just because you had to settle for me because I was lucky enough to get you doesn’t mean anyone thinks you’re worthless. And anyone who says otherwise can come tell me to my face.”
Kale marveled at the sincerity in Jason’s voice. He really believed Kale was worthwhile, and he would fight any man who challenged that. He’d lose, but he’d fight them just the same. Jason held Kale’s head firmly in his grip until Kale nodded his understanding. After he was released, Kale got up and fetched a washcloth to clean Jason. By the time he was done, Jason was already beginning to harden again. Wanting his own release, Kale reached down and began to stroke Jason’s shaft back to a full erection. Jason relaxed into the bed and closed his eyes, enjoying the sensation. Looking down on Jason, Kale was so absorbed in studying his face that he was surprised when he felt Jason’s warm hand curl around his own, halting his movement.
“That’s enough. I have other plans.”
Kale grabbed the oil, readying to be taken again. Jason reached out and took hold of his wrist. “Give it to me.” Puzzled, Kale handed over the container and watched wide-eyed as Jason poured some out and began to finger himself. Kale froze, not wanting to believe his luck.
Jason chuckled. “Kale, I know what you need tonight, what you’ve wanted since I came home. I might not have succeeded tonight, but I’m still going to take care of you.”
Kale’s mouth had gone dry. “I don’t need to; you can take me again.”
Jason got up on his knees and came flush against Kale. “Yes, you do need it. And even if you didn’t, I do. I need to know you love me, that you want me as much as I want you. Tonight, I need to feel that I’m yours.”
Kale closed his eyes and shuddered. How well Jason knew him. When he opened his eyes, he saw Jason looking so vulnerable that it was hard to believe he was the same man that had just taken him so forcefully. Leaning forward, he kissed him and felt Jason’s body melt against his. Snaking his hands up his back, he gently lowered him to the bed. Once they were situated, Kale looked down at Jason. “Are you sure?”
“More sure than I’ve ever been of anything.”
Kale simply nodded and inserted a finger. He wasn’t going to risk hurting him or worse. After he had carefully stretched Jason out and slathered himself with oil, he lined up his cock and slowly slipped in, groaning as the heat of Jason’s body enveloped his own. Once inside, he settled, letting Jason become accustomed to him. This felt so good, so good to be surrounded by Jason, to feel his heat on his cock, so good to be allowed to do this because Jason sensed it was important and cared enough to let him. He opened his eyes and looked down on Jason who had a look of sheer contentment on his face that made Kale wonder how he’d gotten this lucky.
“You may come whenever you’re ready, Kale.” Jason clamped down on him to emphasize his point.
Kale leaned down and kissed Jason on the lips, grasping his head between his hands, as he slowly began to thrust, savoring the moment. When he pulled away, he kept his eyes on Jason’s face, wanting to see all of his reactions. The looks of pure bliss that erupted on Jason’s face gave Kale a feeling of pride at being the one to deliver such pleasure. Kale felt more than ever that he belonged to this man, but he also acknowledged for the first time that Jason belonged to him as well.
The sheer emotion of the moment was overwhelming. He couldn’t control himself anymore. Quickening the pace, he dropped his head to Jason’s chest and wrapped one arm around him. With his other hand, he reached between their bodies and grabbed Jason’s cock. Even though his head had succumbed to a haze of feeling, he knew that he wanted Jason to come with him. There was no way that he would answer Jason’s generosity with selfishness. It was sloppy work as his pleasure mounted, but he managed to stroke Jason in time with his thrusts.
Jason’s hands came to Kale’s head, holding him tight and running his fingers through his hair as he moaned in pleasure. Pressed up against Jason’s body, Kale became intoxicated by the heady scent of sweat. Darting his tongue out, he tasted the salt on Jason’s skin, and it made him hungry for more. Groping with lips and tongue, he found Jason’s nipple and began to play with it. The sounds coming from Jason were now more urgent, and Kale felt his hands tighten in his hair. Kale increased the rhythm of his thrusts and stroking until Jason’s grip turned to a vice and he came with a loud growl. Kale released the nipple and shouted out his relief as he came too.
Once the last wave of pleasure had receded, he rolled off Jason, only to be pulled into a deep kiss. When Jason broke away, he rested on Kale’s chest. The weight felt comfortable and right, and when Kale began to stroke Jason’s back, he felt the most possessive urge he’d ever experienced.
Jason nuzzled against Kale, and goose bumps began to break out on their skin as the cooling air hit the sheen of sweat that covered them both. “I’m so lucky to have you.”
“What, you don’t think Demetri would have been as good in the sack? No, I’m the lucky one. I never thought I’d have a master like you.”
Jason’s voice was heavy with sleep. After two orgasms, he was struggling to stay awake. “Demetri’s an ass, and I was stupid for wanting him. Wouldn’t trade you for the world.”
“Or a woman.”
Jason laughed, and Kale thought it was the sweetest sound he had ever heard. “Or a woman.”
A few minutes later, Jason went limp and heavy on Kale’s chest. The look on his face was so pure and unguarded that it took Kale’s breath away. Yes, Jason was his, he knew that now. Tightening his grip around the other man, Kale also knew that he would do whatever he had to in order to take care of what was his.

My Thoughts:
I was immediately pulled into this story, and held captive until the very last page, then I was left to dive into the second book right away and again with the third I just could not wait.

Jason is given Kale before leaving for school. Kale was not the slave he wanted. Jason wanted another that he felt would bring him a higher social standing among his peers. In the beginning Jason is a bastard. He is horrible to Kale, but Kale manages to handle him. After a bad breakup Jason starts secluding himself with only Kale for company and it isn't long until the attraction takes over.

These two men were fantastic together in book one and even more so in book two. Book three was just the icing on the cake and I loved each and every part of this trilogy. Normally when reading three books in a series at least one of them is lacking for me. That was definitely not the case here. I was not completely happy at the end of book one (Measure of Devotion), but I could just flip a page and begin book two (Measure of Strength). I would have been upset had I had to wait so I would definitely recommend having book two ready and waiting!

Overall this trilogy will pull several different emotions from readers, it made me laugh, cry, brought overwhelming joy and heartbreak. The stories are well written and have a life-like feel to them, as if you are actually reading about things that happened in someones life, not just a fictional story. I very highly recommend this trilogy and each of the books contained in it!

About the Author:

For 25 years I
thought the September Issue of Vogue was the only thing I was interested in
reading. I was so wrong…When a certain Mr. Grey came to my life I learned that
book boyfriends rock and that I wanted to meet as many as my dear slutty eyes
would let me. After reading like a crazy woman I decided to give my pen (in
this case, my laptop) a try.
So here I am at 26,
with my first book, telling the story of a sweet, adorable bitch. I don’t know
why I wrote it in English, instead of my adorable Spanish, but I did, and I
hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Blue Ice has been lots of fun and my crazy
mind is already creating more stories.
I am a Mexican new
author, I love fashion more than anything in life, and I have an unhealthy
obsession with David Gandy (don’t worry David, as soon as we get married I’ll
start to act normal). My family and friends are the best thing in my life, but
I also adore my dear TV, and my TV boyfriends as well.
I don’t cook, or
drink, or exercise, but God do I shop! And that’s what matters after all.
I would love to hear
from you in any of my Twitter accounts (I know, crazy women have more than one
account), FB or by a nice simple email.
