Review: Object of His Obsession by Jae T. Jaggart

I have to admit that I believe I read the blurb three times before I finally decided to go ahead and read this story. I am (as a rule) not a huge fan of historical books at all. Even though I am not a fan of the genre. I love different things about Egypt, and this is a M/M romance so I thought well, why not? I am so so glad that I did!

Benedict has had it bad for Evander for a long time. Problem is it is illegal for men to be together in that way. Benedict never would have thought that Evander could return his affections to him it would be like a dream come true. When Evander approaches Benedict and they have a steamy sexual encounter, Benedict feels wonderful and terrible at the same time. You see Evander is happily married to an amazing and beautiful woman and they have two children. Benedict has no idea that Evander and Juliana have an arrangement, even though Evander tells him this, Benedict just refuses to believe him. This story stretches over a period of time. Benedict goes back and forth between wanting his affair with Evander and feeling as though he is betraying Juliana. It truly is a wonderful love story and seeing both of these men falling for each other was so heartwarming. Juliana plays a large enough roll in this book that I think she deserves a mention as well. While she is a supporting character she is also Evander's wife. She is not the normal quiet woman that I have found to be typical of historical books. She is strong and feisty, a very well written character that you just can not help but to love her.

I absolutely loved this book! Once I got started I just could not put my kindle down. This was the first book that I have read by Jae T. Jaggart and I am now a fan. The writing flowed so smoothly and the story just held me captive. I just could not stop reading until I had the book finished. I very highly recommend this title, even if you are like me and normally not a fan of historical books, you simply must give this one a try, it is definitely worth it!
